2012 Annual Meeting and Convention
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Friday June 15 and Saturday June 16, 2012

The Blair Society for Genealogical Research invites you to attend its 2012 Convention on Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th, 2012 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The meeting will be held at the:

The BSGR’s group rate is $99.00/ night plus tax.  Please make you hotel reservations by calling 1-260-420-1100 by May 25th, 2012 or use the website http://www.hiltonfortwayne.com/ and be sure to mention the BSGR Group Code, BSG, in order to receive our group rate.

The 2012 Blair Society Convention will be a joint convention with the Chapman Family Association.

Come to the 2012 convention in Fort Wayne to:

  •  Enjoy meeting with other researchers

  •  Use the region's best genealogical library: Fort Wayne has a renowned genealogy library - the Allen County Public Library, second only to the LDS in Salt Lake City. It has recently been updated and elevated to a high tech facility. There will be a presentation at the library on finding information in their vast collection. Come early or stay late and do some family research of your own.

  •  Browse the BSGR books and merchandise

New features of the 2012 convention:

  •  Blair Heroes photo contest: Send pictures of your Blair Heroes. All photos received by May 25, 2012 will be displayed and entered in the contest.

  •  Silent Auction: Bring something for door prizes and for the silent auction. Suggested items are t-shirts, jewelry, mugs, food items, anything fun from your state.

Program

The program is still being developed but will include a discussion of the Blair DNA Project; a presentation and tour at Allen County library; question and answer session with BSGR genealogist, Charlotte Blair Stewart; and other sessions of interest to BSGR members. There will be a reception on Friday night and a dinner on Saturday night.

The registration fee for the convention is $20.00.  There will be a convention registration form in the Spring issue of Blair Family Magazine or you can complete the online registration form below.

Allen County Public Library

The Genealogy Center is a remarkable family history destination and continues to build on its tradition of excellence in serving genealogists, historians and other interested hobbyists and scholars. An experienced staff provides services to a full range of patrons, from children to senior citizens and from beginners to experienced researchers. To support these efforts, the Center has gathered an extensive collection of 350,000 printed volumes and more than 513,000 items of microfilm and microfiche. These resources grow daily through library purchases and donations from appreciative genealogists and historians. For more details on what is available see the BROCHURE.

The library is open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Monday through Thursay, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and from 12:00 PM to 5:00PM on Sunday.
